About Ocean Dyenamics
OCEAN INSPIRED FUNCTIONAL TEXTILE ART
Ocean Dyenamics' Textile Dye Artist, Leslie Palotas, combines her love for the sea with her custom dyed, functional art. She modifies classic Shibori dyeing techniques to create waves and sea creatures on clothing, surfboard inlays and home decor items.
Due to the huge amount of variables in designs, color schemes and canvases, Ocean Dyenamics is a custom dye business. Each customer's items are created after their order is complete. The 2-3 week creation and incubation period allows each order to be uniquely catered to the preferences of each customer.
The Ocean Dyenamics dye process is one of controlled chaos. Leslie has developed her designs for over 6 years. In this time, she has dyed over 1,200 octopus items (not counting any other designs). She has the trial and error experiences to produce recognizable images in a somewhat unforgivable art medium. The dynamics of liquid effect the chemical bonds of the dyes to the natural fiber canvas; this leads to elements of uncontrollability in the finished product. Pictures of past items are examples only - customers should expect their orders to vary slightly in shape and color variation.
Products listed on Ocean Dyenamics' Online Store are user-friendly custom orders. Popular designs and products are combined to allow the customer to make an order without any additional communication with the artist.
OCEAN DYENAMICS CUSTOM ORDERS
Customers looking for a truly unique item are encouraged to email oceandyenamics@gmail.com to commission artwork (clothing, surfboard inlays, home decorations) and services such as stained white clothing up-cycling. Custom Orders may take additional time if new designs or canvases are involved. These longer windows of preparation allow Leslie to create test items to ensure a successful design.
